Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for preparing and laying out base, digging required dimensions, compacting ground, installing concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, driveways, wheelchair ramps, setting rebar, and placing and finishing concrete.
The candidate will be responsible for measuring required concrete quantities and ordering concrete.
The candidate will be responsible for repairing pedestrian trip hazards by grinding sidewalks and removing and resetting paving stones.
The candidate will be responsible for restoring landscaping and cleaning up job sites.
The candidate will be responsible for using cement finishing and masonry tools as well as power equipment such as rollers, jackhammers, concrete saws, and grinders, and performing routine maintenance and repairs.
The candidate will be responsible for adhering to all safe work requirements, including using proper personal protective equipment and setting up work zone perimeter protection such as signage and barricades.

Job Requirements

The candidate must have high school graduation or equivalent.
The candidate must hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
The candidate must be physically able to perform the responsibilities associated with the position.
The candidate must demonstrate flexibility in work assignments and changing priorities.
The candidate will be required to work effectively as part of a team.
