Job Description

  • The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • The candidate must clean windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • The candidate will be responsible for making minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as contacting tradespersons for significant repairs.
  • The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • The candidate must perform other routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair.
  • The candidate must clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • The candidate must work with minimal supervision.
  • The candidate must repair minor defects.
  • The candidate must perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, a First Aid Certificate, Carpenter Trade Certification, and a Painting Certificate (15-week course).
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting independently and taking the initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
