Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to purchase machinery, livestock, seed, feed, and other supplies.
  • The candidate should be able to perform general farm duties.
  • The candidate will be expected to manage the farm’s overall operations.
  • The candidate should have knowledge and capability to operate farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate will be expected to create marketing programmes.
  • The candidate will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff and/or volunteers.
  • The candidate must plan and coordinate planting, cultivating, and crop harvesting activities.
  • The candidate will be responsible for detecting disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness of the farm.
  • The candidate will have to raise and breed livestock and poultry.
  • The candidate must determine the amount and types of crops to be grown, as well as the livestock to be raised.
  • The candidate will be responsible for animal health monitoring.

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Previous experience is not mandatory.
  • The candidate should be a good team player with enough interpersonal and judge-mental skills.

  • The candidate should have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
  • The candidate should have strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • The candidate should be able to accept criticism while remaining calm and effective in high-stress situations.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

  • The candidate should have prior experience operating a tractor, sprayer or duster, seed drill, fertiliser applicator, storage and silage system, automated irrigation system, milking system (automated), feeding and watering system, and automated manure handling or storage system.

Security and Safety

  • The candidate should have a thorough Criminal record check.

Work Site Environment

  • The candidate will be required to work in wet or damp, dusty,  hot and cold environments.
  • The candidate should be willing to work in an outdoor environment for long hours, including tolerance for pests and thorns.
  • The candidate will be required to work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

  • For transportation, the candidate should use their own vehicle.

Landscape and Horticulture Technicians and Specialists Specific Skills

  • The candidate will be required to perform suckering, Weeding, Grading, tying, and lowering tasks.
  • The candidate will be required to perform regular green house cleaning activity.
