Job Description

  • The candidate must determine the type of glass, frames, and materials needed.
  • The candidate must measure, mark, and cut glass.
  • The candidate must position and secure panes in the frame.
  • The candidate must prepare tenders and quotations.
  • The candidate will be required to assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products.
  • The candidate will be required to install door, window, and other hardware.
  • The candidate will be required to train apprentices.
  • The candidate must prepare shop drawings.
  • The candidate will be expected to repair glass doors and other glass structures.
  • The candidate will be required to assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise other employees.
  • The candidate will be expected to transport glass cases.
  • The candidate will be required to estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate will be required to use CADD and other computer software systems.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • The candidate will be required to work at heights, on scaffolding, or on swing stages.
  • The candidate will be required to work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes, and other lifting equipment.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
