Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for grading vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume in order to fetch high price in market.
  • The candidate will be responsible for greenhouse cleaning.
  • The candidate must harvest vegetables by hand.
  • The candidate must harvest seedlings.
  • The candidate must plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
  • The candidate must tie and secure plants.
  • The candidate will be responsible for training trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
  • The candidate will be responsible for weeding.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fertilizing and spraying crops.
  • The candidate must harvest crops.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must detect disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.
  • The candidate must examine the product’s quality and readiness for market.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.
  • The candidate will be responsible for budding trees.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cutting horticultural crops.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • Candidate having experience is an asset.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include fruit and vegetable combination farming, as well as tree and orchard fruit production.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp and dusty conditions.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Experience and specialization

  • Crops include apples, cherries, garlic, grapes, and greenhouse vegetables.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience operating various equipment and machinery, including a farm truck, forklift, fruit harvester, tractor, fertilizer applicator, sprayer or duster, welding equipment, hand tools, and a vegetable or fruit harvester.
