Job Description
- Franchise Specialist, Business Banking builds and grows relationships with franchise business owners.
- This is a full time position based in Winnipeg with frequent travel across the assigned market.
- The role focuses on business development, client relationships and franchise banking solutions.
- You will spend most of your time meeting clients, visiting branches and attending business events.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with franchise business owners and expand existing client accounts.
- Plan and complete business development activities to generate new banking business.
- Identify new prospects through referrals, networking and marketing events.
- Work with Virtual Franchise Banking Advisors to onboard new clients.
- Review business and personal banking needs and recommend suitable solutions.
- Work with Wealth Management consultants to deliver complete financial solutions.
- Support partners with high value franchise deals and business development strategies.
- Respond to requests for business banking products and complete due diligence.
- Negotiate financial product terms in line with company policies.
- Explain banking services and guide clients through the setup process.
- Grow the assigned franchise banking portfolio and meet business goals.
- Provide franchise banking advice that supports business success.
- Build relationships with referral sources and banking partners.
- Work with credit teams to process franchise financing requests.
- Prepare and review required documentation.
- Follow company security procedures and report unusual activity.
- Follow privacy, regulatory and risk management policies.
- Support an inclusive and high performing work environment.
Requirements
- Post secondary education with university or college courses in accounting, finance, business law or economics, or equivalent work background is required.
- Work background in franchising through education or employment is required.
- Strong knowledge of business banking products, services and sales tools is required.
- Strong knowledge of the local franchise market and business environment is required.
- Skilled in Business Banking software and supporting platforms such as ACE, GRM, Sales Builder and Intralink.
- Strong knowledge of risk management policies and processes is required.
- Strong knowledge of legal and security documentation is required.
- Solid background in business development, marketing and client acquisition techniques is required.
- Strong knowledge of branch procedures, processes and workflows is required.
- Strong knowledge of business legal structures, business life cycles and owner characteristics is required.
- Strong knowledge of business financial statements, especially within the franchising sector, is required.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking products and services is required.
- Strong knowledge of Business Banking, Wealth Management, Commercial Banking and Enterprise Solutions is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of competitor products and alternative financing options is preferred.
- Show can work with clients and partners to build lasting relationships.
- Demonstrate excellent interaction skills, planning skills, persuasion skills and flexibility.
