Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare floors for installation.
  • The candidate will be expected to prepare and install hardwood floors.
  • The candidate will be required to measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding.
  • The candidate will be required to measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings.
  • The candidate will be expected to inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
  • The candidate will be expected to inspect, measure, and mark the surfaces to be covered.
  • The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • The candidate will be expected to create floor plans and schedules.
  • The candidate will be required to perform direct glue-down carpet installations.
  • The candidate will be required to install double-bond carpet.
  • The candidate will be required to stretch carpet using knee kickers and other equipment.
  • Prior to installing flooring, the candidate will be required to conduct moisture, ph, temperature, and other tests.
  • The candidate will be required to measure, cut, and install carpeting using a hand or machine stitcher, seaming iron, bonding tape, or other bonding materials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the flooring materials are properly placed, secure, and clean.
