Job Requirements
- The candidate must be in good health and able to meet established medical and academic standards, qualify in essential job function and aptitude tests, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- The candidate must hold Firefighter Level 1 and Level 2 certification that meets NFPA 1010 standards and is accredited by either IFSAC or Pro Board.
- The candidate must hold a valid certificate from a recognized training program in one of the following disciplines: First Responder, Emergency Medical Responder, Primary Care Paramedic, Advanced Care Paramedic, or Critical Care Paramedic.
- The candidate must hold Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
- The candidate must hold a Grade 12 certificate or recognized equivalent qualification.
- The candidate must hold a valid British Columbia Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement or equivalent.
- The candidate must provide a current driver’s abstract reflecting a safe and responsible driving history.
- The candidate must successfully complete the University of Victoria or University of Alberta Fitness Test within one year of the job posting.
