Job Description

  • A Financial Planner’s job is to build and strengthen connections with mass-affluent clients through customized financial planning and investment expertise.
  • Conduct proactive outreach with new external clients and grow relationships with active clients of Scotiabank.
  • Work in partnership with branch partners to deliver the full range of Scotiabank’s financial planning and services.
  • Working together with management and co-workers within a branch-centered, growth-oriented culture.
  • You will work in an environment that is supportive, inclusive!

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a portfolio of clients by proactively growing your client base, while expanding relationships with your existing clients.
  • Deliver customized retirement planning and investment strategies using Scotiabank’s retirement planning framework.
  • Business development, including opportunities identified for referrals and investment solutions.
  • Outbound calling, client outreach, and financial needs discovery to generate new opportunities.
  • Using community events, social events, and information events to grow your client base.
  • Work with your branch partners to the full financial plan, and utilize Scotiabank’s entire resources.
  • Ensure all Global Sales Principles, as well as regulatory obligations, are complied with.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in investment sales and financial planning.
  • Mutual funds licensing with valid CIRO licensing (IFIC or CSC) .
  • Strong networking, client acquisition and relationship building skills .
  • Demonstrated ability in relationship building and developing and sustaining Centre of Influence (COIs) .
  • Target driven, entrepreneurial mindset and able to work independently .
  • Strong familiarity of market trends, competitive offerings, and regulatory framework.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle access to meet clients.
