Job Description
- The candidate will be expected to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
- The candidate will be in charge of weeding.
- The candidate will be required to fertilise and spray crops.
- The candidate will be in charge of harvesting crops.
- The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
Work Site Environment
- Farm operations include fruit and vegetable combination farming as well as organic farming.
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
- The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp, dusty and hot conditions.
- The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
- The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
Work Setting
- Accommodation will be provided for the candidate.
- The candidate will be provided with room and board.
Experience and specialization
Type of Crops
- Crops include bell peppers, blueberries, cabbage, carrots, cauliflowers, cucumbers, garlic, onions, strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, and zucchini.
Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have prior experience with a carrot seeder, an onion seeder, a farm truck, a lift truck, planting equipment, a seed drill, a sprayer or duster, a tractor, and a vegetable harvester.
