Job Description

The candidate must clean the crops.
The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
The candidate will be responsible for clearing fields of wood and stone.
The candidate must cultivate on a vertical farming system.
The candidate will be responsible for cutting horticultural crops.
The candidate will be responsible for greenhouse cleaning.
The candidate must be able to handle animals.
The candidate must harvest seedlings.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing growth of vines, vine canopy and grapes.
The candidate will be responsible for milking goats.
The candidate must mix fertilizer.
The candidate must monitor animal health.
The candidate must perform animal grooming activities.
The candidate must plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops.
The candidate will be responsible for seed cutting.
The candidate must be familiar with soil fertility programs.
The candidate must tie and secure plants.
The candidate will be responsible for tracking and reporting on current feed inventories.
The candidate will be responsible for weeding.
The candidate must harvest crops.
The candidate will be responsible for feeding and tending animals.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
The candidate must maintain financial and production records.
The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
The candidate must provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing livestock, or disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses.
The candidate will be responsible for developing work schedules and establishing procedures.
The candidate must ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
The candidate will be responsible for formulating the feeding program.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality control and production records.
The candidate must milk cows.
The candidate must be able to recognise and treat certain livestock health issues.
The candidate will be responsible for supervising and overseeing growing and other crop-related operations.
The candidate must clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
The candidate must maintain work records and logs.
The candidate must detect disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.
The candidate must perform general farm duties.
The candidate must examine the product’s quality and readiness for market.
The candidate will be responsible for installing and monitoring water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be fluent in English language.
The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.

The candidate should be reliable.
The candidate must be a quick learner.

Work site environment

Farm operations include chicken farming, goat farming, livestock combination farming, other miscellaneous animal farming, other miscellaneous crop farming, dairy farming, and horticultural field crops.
The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp, dusty, hot, and dirty conditions.
The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

The candidate must be willing to work in rural and remote areas.

Experience and specialization

Type of crops

Crops include artisanal crops, garlic, greenhouse vegetables, herbs and worms.

Equipment and machinery experience

The candidate must be familiar with biogas, automated irrigation system, fertilizer applicator, harvesters, tractor, farm truck, loader, planting equipment, tillage equipment, vegetable harvester and welding.

Automated systems experience

The candidate must have prior experience with manure handling and storage.

Area of specialization

The candidate must be knowledgeable about agricultural livestock services, permaculture, agricultural crop services, animal husbandry, and nursery or greenhouse operations.
