Job Description

  • The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
  • The candidate must consider water saturation, light, and temperature when planning for crop growth and development.
  • The candidate will be responsible for cutting crops.
  • The candidate must develop specific plans to prioritize tasks.
  • The candidate must direct agricultural crop deleafing activities.
  • The candidate must implement soil fertility programs.
  • The candidate must oversee the activities involved in clearing the fields.
  • The candidate will be responsible for training trees to produce more fruit of higher quality.
  • The candidate must perform the weeding task.
  • The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
  • The candidate must ensure compliance with farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality control and production records.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and overseeing growing and other crop-related operations.
  • The candidate must perform general farm duties.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • Spanish is considered an asset language.

  • The crops are apples and cherries.

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have experience in operating a fertilizer applicator, harvesters, a sprayer or duster, a tractor, a vegetable or fruit harvester, and a forklift.
