Job Description

  • The candidate must develop specific plans to prioritize.
  • The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing livestock health issues.
  • The candidate will be responsible for directing agricultural crop deleafing activities.
  • The candidate will be responsible for directing farm feed inventory activities.
  • The candidate must harvest seedlings.
  • The candidate must mark livestock to prove ownership.
  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring the calving process.
  • The candidate must monitor animal health.
  • The candidate must organize tasks to complete the work.
  • The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the activities of clearing the fields.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising milking operations to ensure that the work is completed correctly.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of farm safety and biosecurity procedures.
  • The candidate must provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers.
  • The candidate must ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed.
  • The candidate must maintain livestock performance records.
  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality control and production records.
  • The candidate must supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and overseeing growing and other crop-related operations.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 3 to 4 people.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming (including feedlots), chicken farming, goat farming, livestock combination farming, other grain farming, dairy farming, and poultry and egg production.
  • The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work in a rural area; most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
