Job Description

  • The candidate would be in charge of troubleshooting and isolating faults.
  • The candidate would be in charge of testing and measuring voltage, loads, ground faults, and circuit integrity.
  • The candidate would be in charge of splicing, joining, and connecting wires.
  • The candidate will be expected to renovate electrical systems in both residential and commercial buildings.
  • The candidate would be responsible for reading, interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications and adhering to instructions and operating manuals
  • The candidate must install, replace, and repair electrical controls and panel boxes.
  • The candidate must install underground wiring and cables.
  • The candidate will be expected to install power generation, backup power generation, and power conditioning systems.
  • The candidate will be required to connect power to audio and visual equipment.
  • The candidate must carry out preventive maintenance programmes.
  •  The candidate must ground and bond electrical equipment, systems, and structures such as swimming pools and hot tubs.
  • The candidate will be required to complete work orders and keep track of the materials used on jobs.
  • The candidate must prepare and assemble conduits as well as connect wiring through them.
  • The candidate will be expected to prevent system breakdowns by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, and so on.
  • The candidate will be required to perform general electrical maintenance.
  • The candidate must inspect transformers, circuit breakers, transfer switches, gear and other electrical components.
  • The candidate must test electrical systems and components to ensure proper operation.
  • The candidate will be required to complete all work in accordance with electrical codes, blueprints, and standards.
  • The candidate will be expected to maintain an adequate supply of necessary supplies and parts.
  • The candidate will be required to perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
  • The candidate must run computer cables, connect computer jacks and plugs, and test for proper operation.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and training workers who are responsible for installing, maintaining, or repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • The candidate will be required to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.
  • The candidate will be expected to use a variety of testing devices to identify electrical faults.
  • The candidate must comply with state and local building codes based on the National Electrical Code.
  • The candidate must keep maintenance reports and documentation.
  • The candidate must design and build single-phase services for single or multimeter installations.
  • The candidate must design and build low voltage (30 to 750V) multiphase service for single or multimeter installations.
  • The candidate will be expected to be professional in customer service.

  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of Other trades certificate or diploma in Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering Technology/Technician, Electrician

Equipment and Machinery Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience with instrumentation, high voltage and energised equipment, electronic devices, and conventional electrical devices.

  • The candidate will be required to work in Residential, Institutional and Commercial settings.

Own Tools/Equipment

  • Candidates are required to wear steel-toed safety boots and Safety equipment or gear
