Job Description

  • The candidate must load and unload goods.
  • The candidate must inspect the vehicle’s condition, including the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential components.
  • The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English or French.
  • There are no standard education requirements, such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
  • The ability to communicate in Arabic, Italian and Polish is an asset for the candidate.
  • The candidate must have a Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks) and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Certification.
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work setting

  • The candidate should work from a remote location, as the practice of employees doing their jobs from a location other than a central office operated by the employer.
  • The candidate should be willing to relocate and be ready to move to a new city/different city for a job.

Experience and specialization

Documentation knowledge

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about driver logbooks and maintenance, and repair reports.

Type of trucking and equipment

  • The candidate must have experience in operating dry bulk, tractor-trailers, and tractor-trailer B trains.

Communication systems experience

  • The candidate will be responsible for operating the GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigational equipment.

Additional information

Security and safety

  • The candidate must undergo a driver’s validity licence check and a driving record check (abstract).

Transportation/travel information

  • The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks frequently.
  • The candidate should be willing to work for long hours in sitting positions.
