Job Description
- Candidates working in this post are appointed to operate or control multiple blades and salting mechanisms.
- Candidates are also appointed to perform ancillary road maintenance and labour services for the Parks Canada Agency.
Job requirement
- Candidates must attain possession of a valid and current Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license.
- They must have substantial and extensive experience in the operation of commercial and heavy equipment to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must attain the ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe proficient manner to be eligible for this post.
- They must have experience in the operation of road graders or the ability to be trained to an acceptable level of proficiency in grader operation by Parks Canada.
- Candidates must attain the ability to identify equipment malfunctions, carry out minor maintenance and repairs, determine the cause and effectively report them.
- They must attain the ability to operate a backhoe, safely, and to dig trenches.
- Candidates must attain the ability to perform general labour tasks as they relate to road and ground maintenance to be eligible for this post.
- They must ensure the willingness to work or travel in varied terrain, adverse weather conditions to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates must ensure reliability Status security clearance to be eligible for this post.
- They must ensure maintenance of a valid and current Class 3 Nova Scotia driver’s license to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates must ensure willingness to work shift work, and/or weekends, statutory holidays and provincial holidays to be eligible for this post.
