Job Description
- The candidate will use wildfire applications to receive and share operational updates.
- The candidate must maintain clear communication with field personnel through radio systems.
- The candidate will monitor aircraft operations during wildfire response activities.
- The candidate will follow established emergency procedures during wildfire incidents.
- The candidate will maintain accurate and up-to-date wildfire records.
- The candidate will work closely with coordination centre staff and incident commanders.
- The candidate will contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- The candidate will manage high workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- The candidate will travel to support provincial wildfire operations as required.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must possess Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- The candidate must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- The candidate must demonstrate an accurate typing speed of 50 words per minute or greater.
- The candidate must hold certification as a Dispatcher, Dispatcher Type 3 or above, or Radio Operator (RadO).
- The candidate must possess experience working in a demanding environment with strict timelines.
- The candidate must possess experience working in an office and team setting.
- The candidate must possess experience in records management or filing.
- The candidate must possess experience in emergency response or dispatch.
- The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in using computer and digital systems.
- The candidate must possess experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.
