Job Description
- Candidates who have applied for this post are required to ensure compliance with the Highway Traffic Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the City’s Respectful Workplace Policy working at this post.
- They’re also appointed at this post to supply safety clothing and use all safety equipment as per training by the Supervisor, Crossing guards and Team leaders.
- Applicants appointed at this post are required to assist in training other crossing guards at this post.
- They’re also required at this post to report incidents at the crossing to the supervisor, following up with the school officials and Peel Regional Police as directed by the Supervisor working at this post.
Job requirement
- Applicants who applied for this post must demonstrate good hearing and eyesight.They must have good interpersonal and communication skills to be preferred for this post.
- Applicants applying for this post must be in good physical condition to be able to stand and walk holding a stop sign for up to one hour at a time in all weather conditions to be eligible for this post.
- Candidates who have applied for this post must be able to work independently without direct day-to-day supervision to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Applicants at this post must be available from Monday to Friday during the school year for 3 shifts per day as per the provided hours of duty along with prior access to a vehicle to be eligible for this post.
