Job Description 

  • Candidates working in this post are required to manage timelines to meet legislative requirements and applicable deadlines specific to each committee and quasi-judicial board. 
  • Candidates for this post are required to provide advice to the Council and its bodies concerning the application of procedure, protocol, bylaws and legislation. 
  • They’re also appointed at this post to perform research, prepare and provide information throughout the committee appointment process. 
  • Candidates working in this post are appointed to compile the full record of the meeting, including the minutes, decisions and any relevant correspondence. 
  • They’re also required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Council and committee members through demonstrated confidentiality, trustworthiness, integrity and enthusiasm while working in this post. 

Job requirement 

  • Candidate must have a grade 12 and a post-secondary office education certificate to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must have 4 years of experience in a municipal environment where a considerable amount of the function is working with senior management to be eligible for this post. 
  • Candidates must have dedicated knowledge of administrative practices related to meeting organization, minute taking, report writing, and document management. 
  • Candidates must have prior knowledge of procedural fairness, natural justice and decision writing to be eligible for this post. 
  • They must attain dedicated knowledge of the mandate and operations of various committees and quasi-judicial boards to be eligible for this post. 

Work setting 

  • They must be able to determine the application of appropriate procedure, legislation or protocol in a wide range of different contexts and mandates to be eligible for this post.
