Job Description

• The candidate must assist the manager in implementing safety programs.
• The candidate must examine plans, drawings, and site layouts.
• The candidate must inspect the construction of buildings and engineering construction.
• The candidate must ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• The candidate must ensure that electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulations.
• The candidate must inspect the construction of sewer systems and pipelines.
• The candidate must inspect sites to ensure safe working conditions are maintained.
• The candidate must inspect existing buildings for structural defects and fire hazards.
• The candidate must select the appropriate type and size of pipe required.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• The candidate must have a College/CEGEP education in civil engineering technology/technician.
• The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have a Certification by a provincial or territorial association, a First Aid Certificate, a Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, and a Fall Arrest Protection Training Course Certification.
• The candidate should be accurate.
• The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• The candidate should be organized and flexible.
• The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
• The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.

Work site environment

• The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
• The candidate must work in a dusty environment.

Work setting

• The candidate must work in a drilling setting.

• The candidate must undergo a thorough criminal background check and a driving record check (abstract).

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have their own vehicle.
• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must be willing to travel frequently.
• There is no access to public transportation.

• The candidate should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• The candidate should be willing to work under pressure.
• The candidate must finish the work within the given timeline.
