Job Description

  • The candidate must clean windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • The candidate must work with minimal supervision.
  • The candidate must clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • The candidate must water and care for plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
  • The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • The candidate will be expected to use industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other waste.
  • The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • The candidate will be required to make minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as contact tradespeople for major repairs.
  • The candidate will be required to perform other routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
  • The candidate will be required to perform minor repairs on appliances.
  • The candidate must clear snow and ice from walkways and parking lots.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.

Work setting

  • The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.
  • The applicant must work in an industrial facility or establishment, as well as a factory or plant.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience operating steam cleaners, power tools, industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers, and polishing machines.

  • The candidate must have prior experience operating a snowblower and a power lawn mower.
