Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for instructing apprentices.
- The candidate must study the plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
- The candidate must trim joints, fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit, and reinforce joints.
- The candidate must sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics.
- The candidate must maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- The candidate must repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have Cabinetmaker Trade Certification and Joiner (Cabinetmaker) Trade Certification.
- The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
- The candidate should be accurate.
- The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
- The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
- The candidate must be well-organized.
- The candidate should be a good team player.
Work site environment
- The work environment is smoke-free.
Work setting
- The candidate’s relocation costs should not be covered by the employer; if the company does not provide a relocation package, you may request an advance on your earnings to cover some of your moving expenses.
- The candidate should be willing to relocate whether the candidate would be ready to move into a new city/different city for a job.
- The candidate should work in a custom cabinet shop to install kitchen and bathroom cabinets and fittings to new or renovation work and shop fittings.
- The candidate must work in a millwork shop.
- The candidate should work in residential settings, performing work on one, two, and three-family dwellings.
Experience and specialization
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be knowledgeable about cabinetry, built-in units, furniture, window sashes, doors and frames, millwork, and furniture and cabinet remodeling.

- The candidate must be willing to travel.
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.

- The candidate must perform manual dexterity tasks.
- The candidate should have an eye for details.
- The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
