Job Description
- The candidate will receive and process complaints, including interviewing complainants by telephone and in person to gather information and explain general Bylaw & Licensing Services inspection and complaint policies and procedures.
- The candidate will prepare bylaw complaint forms, gather file records, and maintain the inspection diary system.
- The candidate will use a computer database tracking system to create bylaw complaint cases, update permit tracking information, and generate reports and form letters.
- The candidate will set up and maintain business licence records, including data entry and data file maintenance.
- The candidate will issue business licences.
- The candidate will produce letters, forms, memoranda, reports, court depositions, and other materials from copy, rough drafts, and existing data.
- The candidate will perform clerical duties including handling enquiries, scheduling appointments, and composing routine correspondence as directed.
- The candidate will create and enter case information into a computer database tracking system according to prescribed standard procedures.
- The candidate must respond to phone and in-person enquiries and guide visitors appropriately.
- The candidate will provide verbal and written factual information related to business licensing.
- The candidate will maintain records and documentation, including data entry and data file maintenance.
- The candidate will process FIPPA requests and provide records management for the District’s ticketing process.
- The candidate will be responsible for ordering office supplies and certified mailing envelopes.
- The candidate must carry out additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education.
- The candidate must have a one-year post-secondary certificate in office or business administration.
- The candidate must have at least one year of office experience.
- The candidate with an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- The candidate must demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills.
- The candidate must have excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- The candidate must be proficient in standard office software and database systems.
