Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to prepare production and other reports.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise employees and projects.
  • The candidate will be expected to plan and coordinate activities.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise apprenticeship training.
  • The candidate will be expected to recruit and hire workers as well as carry out related staffing actions.
  • The candidate must train or arrange for training.
  • The candidate must manage their own company.
  • The candidate must be able to use CADD and other computer software systems.
  • The candidate will be responsible for setting up machines and equipment.
  • The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate must ensure that health and safety regulations are followed.
  • The candidate must make recommendations for personnel actions.
  • The candidate must be able to read blueprints and drawings.
  • The candidate must requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise 1 to 2 people and 3 to 4 people.
  • The candidate will be expected to supervise Bricklayers, Cement finishers, Tilesetters, Painters and decorators, Floor covering installers, Drywall installers and finishers, Roofers, Recreation equipment installers, Window installers, Apprentices, Trades helpers, Labourers, and Insulators.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate will be required to work in construction, commercial and residential settings.
  • The candidate’s relocation expenses will not be covered by the employer.
  • The candidate must be willing to relocate to the specified location.
  • Work settings include fabrication, inspection, installation, maintenance, repair, restoration and service.
