Job Description

  • The candidate will be in charge of testing and adjusting repaired systems in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • The candidate will be expected to advise customers on work completed and future repair needs.
  • The candidate will be required to adjust, repair, or replace automotive system parts and components.
  • The candidate will be in charge of performing scheduled maintenance work.
  • The candidate will be required to review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
  • The candidate will be in charge of inspecting motors in operation, driving motor vehicles, and testing automotive systems and components.
  • The candidate will be in charge of performing routine vehicle maintenance and general mechanic work.
  • The candidate will be in charge of ensuring vehicle serviceability through test drives, adjusting controls, and updating systems.
  • The candidate will be required to complete reports in order to record problems and work done.
  • The candidate will be expected to inspect and test mechanical units for faults and malfunctions.
  • The candidate will be required to diagnose faults and malfunctions and confirm findings with the supervisor in order to determine whether the unit should be repaired or replaced.
  • The candidate will be expected to keep equipment and tools in good working order.
  • The candidate will be expected to do basic automotive maintenance, such as oil changes and tyre rotations.
  • The candidate will be expected to estimate the costs of parts and labour.
  • The candidate will be expected to repair or replace worn or defective parts and components.
  • The candidate will be in charge of transporting tools, equipment, and other materials.
  • The candidate will be in charge of cleaning machines and work areas properly.
  • The candidate will be in charge of providing customer service.
  • The candidate will be in charge of performing checks and tests to ensure the success of the repair work.
  • The candidate will be expected to collaborate with the manager and other mechanics to diagnose and repair vehicle mechanical and electrical components.
  • The candidate must listen to clients in order to learn more about the vehicle’s history, potential problems, and the services they would like to receive.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform test drivers, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on vehicles in order to identify problems and determine which parts need to be repaired or replaced.
  • The candidate will be responsible for doing preventative maintenance on automobiles, such as oil changes, fluid cleaning and replacement, and brake replacement.
  • The candidate will be responsible for repairing damage to the car’s body as well as washing and painting the exterior of the vehicle.
  • The candidate will be responsible for creating repair timetables and estimates, as well as discussing choices with customers.
  • The candidate will be responsible for inspecting internal systems and controls to ensure that the vehicle is in good working order and complies with state standards.
  • The candidate will be responsible for keeping accurate records about clients, their vehicles, parts, and service history.
  • The candidate will be expected to use shop equipment as directed, as well as perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • The candidate will be required to participate in learning opportunities to keep their job knowledge and technical skills up to date.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should have minimum qualification of Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience

  • The candidate must have Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification
