Job Description

  • The candidate will be in charge of calving.
  • The candidate will be in charge of handling animals.
  • The candidate will be in charge of livestock branding.
  • The candidate will be responsible for fertilising and spraying crops.
  • The candidate will be expected to feed and care for animals.
  • The candidate must operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
  • The candidate must clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
  • The candidate must be able to recognise and treat certain livestock health issues.
  • The candidate will be expected to carry out general farm duties.
  • The candidate must perform agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should be organised and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.

Work site environment

  • Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, hay farming, livestock combination farming, wheat farming, livestock and grain, oil and forage crop.

  • The candidate must be willing to work in a rural area.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

  • The candidate must have prior experience with a farm truck, haying equipment, a loader, planting equipment, a seed drill, a swather, tillage equipment, a tractor, and harvesters.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about cattle breeding, beef cattle, and agricultural crop service.

Animal specialization

  • The candidate must be knowledgeable about horses.
