Careadon Village is located at St. Albert, AB T8N 7W6. The company is currently looking for applications for the role of Waiter/waitress. We are seeking a self-disciplined individual with exceptional interpersonal skills. The chosen applicant will be required to join and begin their duties as soon as possible. The open positions are for Permanent employment or Part-time job. The candidate must be available to work day, evening, and weekend shifts, and must be willing to work flexible hours.

Job Description

  • The candidate must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages.
  • The candidate must address customers’ complaints or concerns.
  • The candidate must present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques, or room billings.
  • The candidate must describe menu items, including daily specials, to customers.
  • The candidate must enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations.
  • The candidate must advise customers on menu selections.
  • The candidate must balance cash and record sales.
  • The candidate must clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
  • The candidate must describe and advise on wine selection.
  • The candidate must greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
  • The candidate must serve food and beverages.
  • The candidate must take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff.
  • The candidate must assist clients/guests with special needs.
  • The candidate must provide excellent customer service.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have no supervision responsibility.
  • The candidate must hold a Food and Beverage Server Trade Certificate, a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, a Food and Beverage Server Training Certificate, a Responsible Beverage Service Certificate, a Food Safety Certificate, a Safe Food Handling Certificate, a Serving It Safe Program Certification, and a Serving It Right Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

  • The candidate should work in restaurants that are generally fast-paced and require the utmost efficiency.
  • The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
