Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for modeling the LDB service standard and behaviors for exceptional customer service and providing service excellence to the public by meeting and surpassing BC Liquor Store standards.
  • The candidate will be responsible for improving business outcomes through active monitoring and prioritization of KPIs.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising the execution of visual presentation plans and standards, conducting daily visual merchandising walk-throughs, and ensuring store planograms are completed as directed.
  • The candidate will support social responsibility in beverage alcohol consumption by preventing sales of alcoholic beverages to minors through strict enforcement of the โ€œ2-IDโ€ policy and deterring sales to intoxicated individuals.
  • The candidate will conduct formal My Peak Performance evaluations, provide appropriate ongoing development and performance feedback to increase confidence and capability, and inspire a customer-centric culture by recognizing and rewarding teams while creating a positive work environment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for directly supervising up to 8 regular and auxiliary employees.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate must have a Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of six (6) months of recent experience, including three (3) months as a supervisor, in a customer-facing, service-oriented environment.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in a retail environment.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in an environment with annual sales in excess of $1 million.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience driving and achieving sales.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with a degree, diploma, or certificate in business or retail management, or successful completion of a supervisory/leadership course.
  • The candidate must successfully complete Serving It Rightโ„ข certification before confirmation of appointment to the position.

  • The candidate must successfully complete a criminal record check as a condition of employment.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

  • The candidate will be required to lift liquor cases weighing up to 50 lbs. to varying heights, stand at a cash register for extended periods of time, and perform warehouse duties involving frequent bending and standing.
  • The candidate must be available to work in a multi-shift retail operation.
