Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to develop and implement policies and procedures for information systems.
  • The candidate will be required to authorise the development of product or service specifications.
  • The candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling, and evaluating daily operations.
  • The candidate will be required to meet with clients to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the development and execution of strategies to drive our customers’ adoption and use of AWS services such as EC2, S3, DynamoDB & RDS databases, Lambda, CloudFront CDN, IoT, and many others.
  • The candidate will be expected to use technical knowledge and customer service skills to effectively represent AWS within the context of a customer’s environment.
  • The candidate will be expected to provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practises, as well as to keep your customers’ AWS environments operationally healthy on a regular basis.
  • The candidate will be expected to build close relationships with customers in order to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges, and to assist them in getting the most out of AWS.
  • The candidate will be expected to support our customers’ creative and transformative innovation spirit across all technologies, including compute, storage, database, big data, application-level services, networking, serverless, and more.
  • The candidate must design, execute, use, and maintain software engineering applications.
  • The candidate must prepare all required Technical Proposals related to software engineering.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to Business Development, Systems Engineering, and SR Technical personnel.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising software engineering staff training and development.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assigning work to software engineering personnel as well as evaluating and managing their performance.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the recruitment of engineering personnel, technical staffing, and the formation of project teams.
  • The candidate must manage ongoing support and provide system metrics for client-facing products.
  • The candidate must provide practical input for strategic technology decisions.
  • The candidate must follow all professional departmental as well as company best practises.
  • As needed, the candidate will be required to present project management backup.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in the translation of business requirements into technical requirements and actions.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and reporting on independent software contractors, software engineers, and outsourcing partners.
  • The candidate must ensure that software engineering personnel are properly trained to perform all job functions and use project and software-related tools.
  • The candidate will be expected to coordinate full-cycle product development activities with executive management, product management, quality assurance, support, and operations teams.
  • The candidate will be expected to propose and manage project budgets.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for completing projects on time.
  • The candidate will be expected to provide technical leadership in the troubleshooting and resolution of issues.
  • The candidate will be required to assess the need for training and talent development.
  • The candidate must provide clear and concise instructions to engineering teams.
  • The candidate will be expected to oversee project logistics and resource allocation.
