Job Description

  • The candidate must supervise staff (apprentices, stagehands, design team, etc.).
  • The candidate must hire and train or arrange for staff training.
  • The candidate must authorize payments by cheque.
  • The candidate must plan and develop permanent, temporary, or movable exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces, and other exhibition venues.
  • The candidate must establish work schedules.
  • The candidate will be responsible for selling merchandise.
  • The candidate must resolve issues that may arise, such as customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers.

Job Requirements

Computer and technology knowledge

Exhibit and display design experience

  • The candidate must have experience in computer-interactive or multimedia, and merchandising or window displays.

Art or fashion design experience

  • The candidate must have experience in art or fashion design, including set or stage design, sound or audio design, computerized special effects, integrated animation, high fashion (haute couture), women’s clothing, and men’s clothing.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must specialize in the area of clothing and retail store operations.
