Job Description
- Candidates working at this post are appointed to assist patients at the counter, receive written prescriptions for Pharmacists, and retrieve filled prescriptions.
- They’re required to process register transactions and receive payment, make change, process checks, credit and debit charges.
- Candidates at this post are appointed to provide prompt and courteous patient services.
- They’re required to answer phones, directs members to product locations working at this post.
- They’re appointed at this post and are required to obtain patient medical history and maintain confidential computer records.
- They’re appointed at this post to assist pharmacists in updating patient profiles and entering prescription information into the pharmacy computer to the extent permitted by provincial regulations.
- Candidates at this post are appointed to fill prescriptions by bringing stock bottles, counting medication into appropriate containers, labeling, and pricing prescriptions under Pharmacist’s supervision to the extent permitted by provincial regulations.
- They’re appointed at this post to complete packaging verification for prescriptions previously checked for therapeutic appropriateness by the pharmacist to the extent permitted by provincial regulations.
- Candidates at this post are required to count, label and package prescriptions, through workflow and bin management.
- They’re also required to generate alerts pharmacists to drug interactions in prescription and over the counter medications.
- Candidates are required to verify prescriptions and refills with physicians by phone as needed and take verbal prescriptions to the extent permitted by provincial regulations.
Job requirement
- They must have completed provincial Pharmacy Technician certification to be eligible for this post.
- They must have been licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing in the province of work.
- Candidates must have computer, math, and member service skills to be eligible for this post.
Work setting
- Candidates with current Costco Pharmacy experience will be given preference over other candidates
