Job Description

• The candidate must conduct initial dental assessments.
• The candidate must consult with dentists regarding patient care.
• The candidate will be responsible for supervising dental assistants in their health care functions.
• The candidate will also be responsible for instructing patients regarding oral hygiene.
• The candidate will be responsible for cleaning and stimulating the gums to prevent gum disease.
• The candidate must apply fluoride treatment.
• The candidate must remove stains and deposits from their teeth.
• The candidate must administer local anesthetics.
• The candidate will be responsible for taking, developing, and mounting X-rays.
• The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing the type and severity of diseases.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a Registered Apprenticeship Certificate.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate must be able to supervise 1 to 2 people.
• The candidate must be licensed as a Dental Hygienist by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body.
• The candidate should be accurate.
• The candidate should be client focused.
• The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
• The candidate must be interpersonally aware.
• The candidate should be a good team player.

• The candidate must work in a dental practice.
