Job Description
- The candidate will be responsible for promoting the enjoyment of skating by assisting with public skating sessions and learn-to-skate lessons.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing general skate shop duties, providing customer service, managing crowd control, and carrying out skate patrol.
- The candidate will direct on-ice traffic flow, lead organized activities, and maintain a safe and enjoyable environment during public skating sessions.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must hold a current Standard or Emergency First Aid and CPR ‘C’ certification and possess a strong skating background.
- The candidate will be required to have experience dealing with the public.
- The candidate must hold a valid first aid certification issued by Canadian Ski Patrol, Heart & Stroke, WorkSafe BC, Lifesaving Society, St John’s Ambulance, or Red Cross.
- The candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the community.
- The candidate with experience in skate sharpening and assisting customers with skate and helmet fitting will be considered an asset.
- The candidate with prior experience in skate shop operations, skate patrol, or on-ice support will be preferred.
- The candidate with experience in recreation registration systems like Xplor Recreation will be preferred.
