Job Description

The candidate will be expected to feed and care for animals.
The candidate would be responsible for detecting disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry
The candidate will be required to regularly set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops.
The candidate should be responsible in ensuring cleanliness of the farm.
The candidate should ensure uninterrupted water supply to the farm.
The candidate should be responsible in keeping daily progress reports of the farm.
The candidate will be required to keep and check records on poultry mortality, feeding, and other poultry information; prepare poultry for operations or inoculations; and sterilise hatchery equipment.
The candidate will be required to collect and wash eggs, candles, and store eggs in coolers.
The candidate will be expected to maintain proper lighting and heating for poultry pens and incubators, as well as to place shavings in hens’ nests.
The candidate will be required to spray disinfectants or vaccines on chickens or in poultry houses.
The candidate will be required to clean droppings and waste from the floor with a broom, shovel, backhoe, or manure-cleaning machine.
The candidate will be expected to lengthen and shorten ropes in order to adjust the level of feed cans and water troughs.
The candidate will be responsible for observing animals for signs of illness and administering medication as needed.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting with and maintaining the health and welfare of chickens.
The candidate will be expected to patrol, inspect, and report on the condition of chickens.
The candidate would be responsible for checking for proper ventilation and temperature conditions
The candidate will be expected to manage egg hygiene through sanitation or fumigation.
The candidate will be responsible for gathering and storing fertile eggs in preparation for hatching.
The candidate will be responsible for the hatchery’s upkeep.
The candidate will be expected to keep a high-quality, clean, and secure hatching environment in order for as many eggs as possible to hatch successfully.
The candidate will be expected to maintain high levels of hygiene standards.
The candidate will be required to ensure that farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
The candidate must follow all health and safety regulations.

The candidate should be fluent in English or French language.
There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
Previous experience in the farming industry is not mandatory.
The candidate would be in charge of keeping an inventory of the necessary feed ingredients.

The candidate should be knowledgeable about manure handling and storage. Egg gathering system, automated bulk grain or feed handling, and feeding and watering system

The candidate should be willing to work in an outdoor environment for long hours, including tolerance for pests and thorns.
The candidate will be required to work in wet or damp, dusty, hot and cold environments.
The candidate will be required to work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
