Responsibilities
- Receive prescriptions and review information for completeness.
- Follow provincial legal and regulatory requirements during prescription intake.
- Enter and update patient information in pharmacy systems.
- Perform data entry, price checks and report generation tasks.
- Process written prescriptions and review dosage information.
- Prepare prescription refills as directed.
- Fill prescriptions under the guidance of a pharmacist.
- Select, count and measure and prepare medications for dispensing.
- Label prescriptions and order them for pharmacist review.
- Obtain approvals for verbal refills when authorized.
- Assist with cognitive service related activities.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and stock levels.
- Remove expired medications and prepare product returns.
- Order pharmacy supplies and medications as required.
- Receive, price and store incoming pharmacy orders.
