Job Description

  • The candidate must install domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • The candidate must repair domestic, commercial, or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • The candidate must be able to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications in order to determine the layout of the plumbing system, water supply network, waste and drainage systems, and so on.
  • The candidate must instruct apprentices.
  • The candidate must locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • The candidate must cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
  • The candidate must join pipes with couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • The candidate must test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • The candidate must determine the piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • The candidate must estimate costs and materials.
  • The candidate must measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • A candidate with experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have a Plumber Trade Certification.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.

Work site environment

  • The candidate will be required to work in confined spaces.
  • The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in various locations to support employees stationed at different worksites.
  • The candidate should work in a commercial setting that produces a workforce full of highly competent, respectful, mature, and accountable employees working toward a common goal.
  • The candidate should work in residential settings, handling tasks on one, two, and three-family dwellings.
