Job Description

  • The candidate will be responsible for supplying and emptying bed pans.
  • The candidate must take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • The candidate must serve meal trays and feed patients.
  • The candidate must weigh, lift, turn, and position patients.
  • The candidate will be responsible for making beds and maintaining patient rooms.
  • The candidate will be responsible for bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
  • The candidate must transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher.
  • The candidate must collect specimens.
  • The candidate must provide first aid in an emergency.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.
  • The candidate must provide companionship.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must launder clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
  • The candidate must feed or assist in feeding.
  • The candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with bathing and other personal hygiene activities.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years, or possess equivalent experience.
  • A candidate with experience is an asset.
  • The candidate must have a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate.
  • The candidate should be client-focused.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
