Job Description

  • The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist clients in water (i.e. pool).
  • The candidate will be expected to assist clients with bathing and other personal hygiene tasks.
  • The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
  • The candidate will be expected to take full responsibility for the household (in absence of householder).
  • The candidate must change non-sterile dressings.
  • The candidate will have to collect specimens.
  • The candidate must demonstrate infant care to new parents.
  • The candidate will have to feed or assist with feeding.
  • The candidate will be expected to launder clothing and household linens.
  • The candidate must be able to mend clothing and linens.
  • The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
  • The candidate must provide companionship.
  • The candidate must provide personal care.
  • The candidate must prepare and serve healthy meals.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a CPR Certificate, a First Aid Certificate, a Health Care Aide Certificate, and a Personal Support Worker Certificate.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in both rural and urban areas.
  • The candidate will be required to work in various locations.
  • The candidate must work in the employer’s/client’s home.

  • The candidate must have prior experience caring for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, Adults, Adolescents, Convalescents, Elderly, Females, Infants (3 to 11 months), Kindergarteners (4 to 5 years), Males, Newborns (including pregnant women), Over 12 years, People with disabilities, People with intellectual disabilities, People with mental health problems, People with physical disabilities, School-aged (6 to 12 years old), Terminally ill, Toddlers to pre-schoolers (1 to 3 years old) and young adults.
