Job Description

  • The candidate will be expected to assess patients in order to determine appropriate nursing interventions.
  • The candidate must work with others to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care.
  • The candidate must dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
  • The candidate will be expected to monitor, assess, address, document, and report symptoms and changes in the conditions of patients.
  • The candidate will be required to operate or monitor medical equipment or apparatus.
  • The candidate will be expected to provide consultative services on nursing profession and nursing practise issues.
  • The candidate must be able to provide nursing care.
  • The candidate will be responsible for supervising licenced practical nurses and other nursing personnel.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must be able to supervise 3 to 4 people.
  • The candidate must have an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate as well as a CPR Certificate.
  • The candidate must be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the province/territory of employment, as well as eligible for licensure as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in the province of employment and as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse by provincial authorities.
  • The candidate should be accurate.
  • The candidate should be client focused.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication skills.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
  • The candidate must be well-organized.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should be a good team player.

Work setting

  • The candidate will be required to work in a hospital, medical facility, or clinic, as well as a nursing home or home for the elderly.
