Job description
- Lead development of policy options to address congestion and related issues
- Conduct research and analysis on government initiatives and emerging trends
- Provide advice on reports going to City Council and Committees
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations and reports for leadership and public audiences
- Monitor Council and Committee activities and assess impacts
- Work with multiple divisions and partners to align strategies and initiatives
- Lead projects and ensure progress, quality and results
- Develop performance tracking tools such as dashboards and reports
- Manage high-profile issues and support responses to media or stakeholder concerns
- Represent the division in meetings and working groups
- Support coordination between leadership offices and Council members
Job requirements
- Post-secondary education in public policy, administration, planning, business or a related field or equivalent combination
- Strong background in public sector work with knowledge of government decision-making processes
- Knowledge of transportation policy, congestion management and infrastructure planning
- Background in policy research, analysis and recommendation development
- Ability to manage complex projects involving multiple partners
- Strong judgement and ability to handle sensitive matters
- Background preparing reports, briefings and presentations
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external partners
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities
- Leadership background is considered an asset
