Job Description
- The candidate will be expected to mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches, and other solutions and chemicals.
- The candidate will be expected to clean and dry garments, draperies, cushion covers, sheets, blankets, furs, and other articles using dry cleaning and washing machines, dryers, and blow drying machines.
- The candidate will be required to use machines to dye, spray, re-oil, and re-buff suede and leather garments.
- The candidate will be expected to fold and bag shirts, sheets, and other items by hand.
- The candidate must hand iron laundered fine linens or dry-cleaned silk garments.
- The candidate will be required to operate finishing equipment such as steam pressers and hand irons to finish trousers, jackets, shirts, skirts, and other dry cleaned and laundered articles.
- The candidate will be required to operate fur ironing and glazing equipment to finish fur garments and other fur articles.
- The candidate must assemble and bag finished products.
- The candidate will be required to inspect finished dry-cleaned or laundered articles to ensure that establishment standards are met.
- The candidate must match invoices or tags to dry-cleaned or laundered articles.
- The candidate must document any damage or improper cleaning or laundering of articles.
- The candidate must use a hand-held steam iron to touch up finished garments and other items.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
- Candidate having experience is an asset.
- The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- The candidate should be a good team player.
Work site environment
- The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
- The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
- The candidate must be able to work in wet/damp conditions.
Work setting
- The candidate’s relocation expenses will be covered by the employer.
- The candidate must be willing to relocate to the specified location.
