Job Description
- The candidate must trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective, such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, and vista pruning.
- The candidate must manage landscaping projects.
- The candidate must apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products.
- The candidate must apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions.
- The candidate must assess the health of lawns.
- The candidate will be responsible for inspecting trees and shrubs to identify problems and diseases.
- The candidate must plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental purposes, and other purposes.
- The candidate must plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
- The candidate must plant and move trees.
- The candidate will be responsible for removing trees.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must have Landscape Gardener Trade Certification.
- The candidate should be client focused.
- The candidate must be well-organized.
Work site environment
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
- The candidate must work in all weather conditions.
- The candidate must be able to work in quiet environments.
Work setting
- The candidate should work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.
- The candidate must work for a residential and private company, corporation, or industry.
- The candidate should work in the landscape maintenance division, which is the art and profession of keeping a landscape healthy, clean, safe, and attractive, usually in a garden, yard, park, institutional setting, or estate.
Experience and specialization
Landscaping experience
- The ideal candidate should have experience in landscaping for residential projects, commercial and/or industrial construction, as well as streetscape.
Area of specialization
- The candidate must be skilled in horticulture, plant identification and knowledge, landscape design, and landscape construction.
Additional information
Security and safety
- The candidate’s driving record should be thoroughly checked (abstract).
Transportation/travel information
- The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
