Job Description

• The candidate must operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal product surfaces.
• The candidate will be expected to assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
• The candidate must sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
• The candidate will be required to use hand tools to grind or chip excess metal from metal products.
• The candidate will be expected to clean machines and surrounding work areas.
• The candidate will be required to transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant either manually or using powered equipment.
• The candidate must load and unload vehicles.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).

Work site environment

• The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
• The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.

Work setting

• The candidate must work in a structural steel plant and a metal products manufacturing company.

Experience and specialization

Equipment and machinery experience

• The candidate must have prior experience operating a dolly, hand tools, a hand truck, and a lifting device.

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
• The candidate must have their own transportation.
• The candidate must have their own vehicle.
• The candidate does not have access to public transportation.

Work conditions and physical capabilities

• The candidate should be required to perform repetitive tasks on frequent basis.
• The candidate should be prepared to perform physically demanding tasks as part of their daily work.
• The candidate should have an eye for details.
• The candidate must be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.

• The candidate must have their own steel-toed safety boots.
