Job Description

• The candidate will be expected to look after pets.
• The candidate must provide bedside and personal care.
• The candidate must administer medications.
• The candidate will be expected to assist clients in water (i.e. pool)
• The candidate will be expected to assist clients with bathing and other personal hygiene tasks.
• The candidate will be expected to assist in regular exercise, such as walking.
• The candidate will be expected to take full responsibility for the household (in absence of householder).
• The candidate must change non-sterile dressings.
• The candidate will have to collect specimens.
• The candidate must demonstrate infant care to new parents.
• The candidate will have to feed or assist with feeding.
• The candidate will be expected to launder clothing and household linens.
• The candidate must be able to mend clothing and linens.
• The candidate must perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• The candidate will be expected to plan therapeutic diets and menus.
• The candidate must provide companionship.
• The candidate must provide personal care.
• The candidate must go shopping for food and household supplies.
• The candidate will be expected to prepare and serve nutritious meals.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English or French languages.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate must have a CPR and First Aid certificate.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• The candidate must be punctual.
• The candidate should be client focused.
• The candidate should be dependable.
• The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be well-organized.
• The candidate should be reliable.

• The candidate will be in charge of providing care to Persons with Alzheimer’s disease, Adolescents, Adults, Convalescent, Elderly, Females, Infant (3 months – 11 months), Kindergarten age (4 – 5 years), Males, Newborn (including expecting mother), Over 12 years, Persons with a disability, Persons with an intellectual disability, Persons with physical disabilities, School age (6 – 12 years), Terminally ill, Toddler to pre-school (1 – 3 years) and Young adults.
