Mount Washington Alpine Resort, located in Courtenay, BC V9N 5N3. The company is actively seeking applicants for the role of Heavy equipment mechanic. The applicant should be a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be required to commence work at the earliest opportunity. It will be Permanent employment or a full-time job. The assigned Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend and Overtime may include shift timings.

Job Description
- The candidate must instruct apprentices.
- The candidate must troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- The candidate must diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
- The candidate must order parts and maintain inventory.
- The candidate must adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
- The candidate must keep maintenance reports and documentation.
- The candidate must have welding experience.
- The candidate must test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications.
- The candidate must attach components and adjust new farm equipment.
- The candidate must clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work.
- The candidate must perform repair work on heavy trucks.
- The candidate must service attachments and working tools.
- The candidate must verify and repair emission control systems.
- The candidate must assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing.
- The candidate must perform other routine maintenance.
- The candidate must perform snow maintenance operations, including handling snowmaking and snow removal equipment.
Job Requirements
- The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
- The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades or equivalent experience as a heavy equipment maintenance technician.
- A candidate with experience is an asset.
- The candidate must supervise heavy-duty equipment mechanics and automotive technicians/motor vehicle mechanics.
- The candidate must be able to handle a weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- The candidate should be accurate.
- The candidate should be dependable.
- The candidate must have excellent oral communication skills.
- The candidate should be organized and flexible.
- The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
- The candidate should be reliable.
- The candidate should be a good team player.

- The candidate must work in a ski centre/resort or resort.
