Job Description

• The candidate must analyze the hair and scalp condition.
• The candidate must book appointments.
• The candidate must cut and trim hair according to the client’s instructions or preferences.
• The candidate must provide customized hair and scalp treatment.
• The candidate will be responsible for shampooing customers’ hair.
• The candidate will be responsible for providing additional hair treatments such as waving, straightening, and tinting, as well as scalp conditioning massages.
• The candidate must cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair.
• The candidate must suggest hairstyles that are compatible with the client’s physical features and preferences.
• The candidate must perform receptionist duties.
• The candidate must maintain and order supplies.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related industry.
• The candidate must have a Hairstylist Licence.
• The candidate should be client focused.
• The candidate should be dependable.
• The candidate should have effective interpersonal skills.
• The candidate must be flexible.
• The candidate should have good judgemental skills.
• The candidate should be reliable.
• The candidate should be a good team player.

• The work environment is smoke-free.

Work setting

• The candidate should work in an urban area with a high population density.
• The candidate will be required to work in a barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio, where a well-organized environment and proper storage of belongings are essential if you want to work smarter rather than harder.

Experience and specialization

Hair styling techniques

• The candidate must be skilled in hair styling techniques such as blow drying, iron waving/curling, pin curls and roller setting.
