Job Description

  • The candidate will be required to weed, prune and trim trees and plants
  • The candidate will be required to repair and maintain equipment
  • The candidate will be required to remove litter and garbage
  • The candidate will be required to plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
  • The candidate will be required to perform preventive maintenance
  • The candidate will have to lay sod or seed.
  • The candidate would be in charge of inspecting products to determine the need for repairs.
  • The candidate will be required to cut grass
  • The candidate would be in charge of carting and spreading topsoil and other materials
  • The candidate will be required to assist with landscape constructions
  • The candidate will be required to apply fertilizers to ground to enhance growth.
  • The candidate would be in charge of watering and caring for plants, lawns, and/or gardens
  • The candidate would be responsible for writing daily basic progress reports
  • The candidate will be expected to rake and collect trash.
  • The candidate will be required to operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment.
  • The candidate will be expected to clean and maintain landscaped areas (such as storm drains, rain gutters, irrigation systems, and so on) in order to prevent flooding and remove hazards
  • The candidate will be required to apply weed controls and fertilisers, mows, weed eats, edges, prunes, and disposes of refuse on all district grounds, among other things, in order to keep the grounds healthy, attractive, and safe.
  • The candidate will be expected to plant and remove various landscaping materials (e.g., lawns, shrubbery, flowers, etc.) in order to keep the areas attractive and to protect against erosion.
  • The candidate will be required to provide general grounds-keeping and maintenance services
  • The candidate will be required to perform general maintenance to external buildings, fences and signs.
  • The candidate will be required to maintain, service and clean vehicles by making minor repairs or adjustments.
  • The candidate must transport materials and equipment to and from job sites using district vehicles.
  • The candidate will be required to repair roadway, parking lots and walkways
  • The candidate will be required to perform routine cleaning duties
  • The candidate will be required to maintain and repair grounds-keeping equipment
  • The candidate will be required to provide semi-skilled maintenance services and general assistance to tradespersons.
  • The candidate would be responsible for monitoring safety equipment and systems.
  • The candidate would be responsible for supervising, teaching and engaging inmate helpers in the completion of maintenance activities
  • If necessary, the candidate will be required to respond to emergencies.
  • The candidate will be responsible for trimming hedges, shrubs, and small trees.
  • The candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining play fields, athletic fields and areas (e.g., tennis courts, tracks, etc.), and play equipment in order to provide adequate, attractive, and safe areas for assemblies and/or recreational activity.
  • The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining plant health.
  • The candidate will be expected to perform routine maintenance duties such as plastering, repairing fountains, and other tasks
  • The candidate will be required to cut down dangerous tree limbs.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should know English
  • There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma .
  • Previous experience is not mandatory.
  • The candidate must be highly skilled in the use of a weed trimmer/edger, a sprayer or duster, a sod cutter, small engine equipment, a chain saw, a backhoe, a front end loader, and a tractor mower.
  • The candidate should have a thorough Criminal record check.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible in nature.
  • The candidate must be able to do their job independently .
  • The candidate should give importance to values and ethics.
  • The candidate should be punctual.
  • The candidate should be accountable.
  • The candidate should be reliable.
  • The candidate should have excellent customer service skills.
