Job Description
- The candidate must clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas.
- The candidate will be responsible for performing artificial insemination, spraying or shearing livestock, and disinfecting pens, barns, or poultry houses.
- The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing livestock health issues.
- The candidate will be responsible for directing farm feed inventory activities.
- The candidate must be able to handle animals.
- The candidate must mark livestock to prove ownership.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring the calving process.
- The candidate must monitor animal health.
- The candidate must organize tasks to complete the work.
- The candidate will be responsible for treating livestock health issues.
- The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of farm safety and biosecurity procedures.

Job Requirements

- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in a related industry.
- The candidate must be able to supervise 1 to 2 people.
- The candidate must be well-organized.
- The candidate should be a good team player.
Work site environment
- Farm operations include beef cattle ranching and farming (including feedlots), other grain farming and livestock farming.
- The candidate must be able to work in dusty conditions.
- The candidate must work in an environment with a high concentration of odours.
- The candidate will be required to work long hours in an outdoor environment.
Work setting
- The candidate should be willing to work in a rural area, where most people live or work on farms or ranches. Hamlets, villages, towns, and other small settlements are in or surrounded by rural areas.
- The candidate should work from a remote location, which is the practice of employees doing their jobs from a location other than a central office operated by the employer.
- The candidate’s relocation costs should be covered by the employer, allowing the employer to contribute to the employee’s relocation costs incurred in moving closer to the company’s offices or other work locations as required.

Equipment and machinery experience
- The candidate must have experience operating agricultural equipment and machinery, including automated irrigation systems, automated manure handling or storage systems, bulk handling systems, feeding and watering systems, fertilizer applicators, sprayers or dusters, tractors, and forklifts.

The candidate must specialize in the handling and management of beef cattle, as well as cattle breeding.
