Job Description

  • The candidate must make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for significant repairs.
  • The candidate must contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing minor repairs to appliances.
  • The candidate must perform security and safety checks.
  • The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • The candidate must repair or replace defective machinery parts.
  • The candidate must read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
  • The candidate must perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • The candidate must detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
  • The candidate must perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • The candidate must conduct pre-operational inspections.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate or diploma in other trades or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting on their own initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work site environment

  • The work site environment is noisy, and the candidate must be able to work with complete concentration even in such conditions.
  • The candidate must work in a dusty environment.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in a factory or plant.
  • The candidate should work in an industrial facility or any establishment engaged in manufacturing or processing, including, but not limited to, factories, foundries, mills, processing plants, refineries, mines, and slaughterhouses.
  • The candidate should focus on repair work, which involves restoring damaged, deteriorated, or broken items to good condition.
  • The candidate should be involved in the maintenance, repair, and operation of machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
  • The candidate should work on machine setup, the time required to prepare a machine for its next run after producing the last part of the previous run.
  • The candidate should work in a shopwork interactive meeting where a group goes through a series of activities to solve a problem or work on a project.

Experience and specialization

Instrument experience

  • The candidate must have experience with mechanical and hydraulic instruments.

Area of specialization

  • The candidate must specialize in the area of electrical work.

Equipment

  • The candidate must have experience using power tools.
