Job Description

  • The candidate must sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • The candidate must be able to use industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other waste.
  • The candidate must empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • The candidate must clean windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • The candidate will be responsible for making minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as contacting tradespersons for major repairs.
  • The candidate must contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing minor repairs to appliances.
  • The candidate must perform security and safety checks.
  • The candidate must move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • The candidate must perform other routine maintenance tasks, such as painting and drywall repair.
  • The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

  • The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
  • The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation or equivalent experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related industry.
  • The candidate must have a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • The candidate must be able to handle weights of more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
  • The candidate should be dependable.
  • The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate should be organized and flexible.
  • The candidate must be capable of acting independently and taking the initiative.
  • The candidate should have good judgmental skills.
  • The candidate should be reliable.

Work site environment

  • The candidate must work in all weather conditions.

Work setting

  • The candidate must work in a factory or plant.
  • The candidate’s relocation costs should not be covered by the employer; if the company does not provide a relocation package, you may request an advance on your earnings to cover some of your moving expenses.
  • The candidate should work in an industrial facility or any establishment engaged in manufacturing or processing, including, but not limited to, factories, foundries, mills, processing plants, refineries, mines and slaughterhouses.

  • The candidate must have experience using equipment such as waxing machines, power tools, power lawn mowers, and security systems.
